Aelwyn (864-) was a West Saxon girl who lived in Winchester, Hampshire during the late 9th century AD. She was employed by Hilda the Quill, a member of the Order of the Ancients, and, in 877 AD, she and her friend Wigbert set a fire in the marketplace before running away from the soldiers who responded. She was later harassed by two thugs, but Eivor Wolf-Kissed intimidated the criminals into leaving Aelwyn alone. He then asked her about "the Quill", and Aelwyn claimed that the two "meatmops" had been sent by Hilda, who used the sewers as her base. As Eivor investigated, Aelwyn scurried back to Hilda's side, and, when Eivor found Hilda's sewer hideout, Aelwyn laughed at him, chanting that he was a "dimwit Dane". Shortly after, however, Eivor assassinated Hilda and killed several of his men; it is unknown what became of Aelwyn.
