Aelfwig of England (1033-1066) was the self-proclaimed King of England in 1066, succeeding Beorhtric. Based at Chippenham in Wiltshire, Aelfwig raised a fyrd to resist William the Conqueror's Norman conquest of England, and he reconquered Edington before being slain at the Battle of Trowbridge.
