Aeddan ap Blegywryd (945-1018) was Prince of Gwynedd from 1005 to 1018, succeeding Cynan ap Hywel and preceding Llywelyn ap Seisyll.
Biography[]
Aeddan was born to a noble Welsh family, and he wrested control of North Wales from Idwal ap Meurig in 1000. In 1005, following the death of Cynan ap Hywel, Aeddan inherited Gwynedd as well. Aeddan's leadership was challenged by Llywelyn ap Seisyll in 1018, and Aeddan and four of his sons were slain in battle.
