Adrien de Gien was a French nobleman who lived in Paris during the French Revolution. Following the Thermidorian Reaction, he and other closeted Royalists came out of the shadows and advocated for a return to the monarchy, forming a powerful bloc in Parisian street politics and the national legislature until the 13 Vendemiaire uprising in 1795 and the Coup of 18 Brumaire in 1799, respectively.
