
Adriano Villena (1774-1842) was a colonel of the Spanish Army during the French Revolutionary Wars and Peninsular War.
Biography[]
Adriano Villena was born in Valladolid in Castilla la Nueva, Spain, in 1774. He enlisted in the Spanish Army in 1793 at the age of nineteen and fought in the French Revolutionary Wars against France, fighting with the cavalry. Villena raised a regiment of Lanceros de Castilla during the Peninsular War of 1808-1814 and fought in Galicia, and took part in the push into France in April 1814. After the war he retired and became a fruit vendor in Valladolid, dying in 1842.
