Adrian Cox (1839-) was an Irish-American soldier who served in the Union Army's 88th New York Infantry Regiment (within the Irish Brigade) during the American Civil War. O'Doherty and several other Irishmen from New Jersey were recruited into the regiment, and they fought in the Overland Campaign and Siege of Petersburg in 1864.
