
Adil Giray (1617-1672) was Khan of Crimea from 1666 to 1671, succeeding Mehmed IV Giray and preceding Selim I Giray.
Biography[]
Adil Giray was the grandson of Fetih I Giray, and he was enthroned by the Ottomans in 1666 due to their displeasure with Mehmed IV Giray. He returned from exile in Rhodes to assume the throne, and he strongly supported Poland-Lithuania during the Deluge; he was even considered for the Polish throne in 1669. He was deposed in 1671 after the Sultan decided to go to war with Poland, and he died in exile in Bulgaria a year later.
