Adelisa de Hauteville di Tomacelli, Princess of Tunis (born 1120) was the wife of Sicilian nobleman Tizrano Tomacelli and the Princess of Tunis from 1136 until her death.
Biography[]
Adelisa de Hauteville was the daughter of King Roger I of Sicily and Judith d'Evreux, the King and Queen of the Norman Kingdom of Sicily. Adelisa was the younger sister of Prince Simon and Matilda of Sicily, and the older sister of Maccio di Taranto. She was attractive, an intelligent lady, and a charming consul.
Upon coming of age in 1136, she lived in Tunis, Tunisia. She was offered the hand of the Sicilian nobleman Tizrano Tomacelli, also a 16-year-old, a very loyal and very pious man who had good command skills. She accepted the offer, and she became his wife rather than a functioning diplomat.
