Adballah I

Adballah I of Morocco (1742-Winter 1789) was the Sultan of Morocco from 1786 to 1789, when he was overthrown and dethroned by Babur Al Amri. He succeeded Mohammed III of Morocco.

Biography[]

Adballah was born in Tangier, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, and ruled by fear. He knew that the punishment must match the offense and had a harsh reputation, but also knew how to manage the country's foreign trade and its army. 

His absolute monarchy was overthrown by Babur Al Amri's republican revolutionaries, who captured Tangier and imposed a constitution that made Morocco a democracy. Adballah was execute by guillotine, a new weapon made in Summer 1789.
