Adam Georg von Agthe (12 August 1777-26 August 1826) was a Major-General in the Imperial Russian Army during the Napoleonic Wars.
Biography[]
Adam Georg von Agthe was born in Kuressaare, Estonia, Russian Empire to a family of Estonian nobility, and he became a lieutenant in the Imperial Russian Army in 1796. Agthe fought at the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805 and in the war with the Ottoman Empire from 1806 to 1811, later distinguishing himself at the capture of Batina and at the Battle of Borodino during Napoleon's 1812 invasion of Russia. He was promoted to Major-General after the Battle of Leipzig in 1813, but was invalided out of the army on 15 April 1816 due to several injuries.
