
Adad-shuma-usur (died 1187 BC) was King of Babylon from 1216 to 1187 BC, succeeding Adad-shuma-iddina and preceding Meli-Shipak.
Biography[]
Adad-shuma-usur led a rebellion against the Assyrian rulers of Babylonia in 1216 BC and became the nominal King of Babylon from his base in Sumer. He finally came to assume authority in Babylon itself in 1191 BC, and he wrote a rude letter to the Assyrian king Ashur-nirari III and defeated his uncle Enlil-kudurri-usur in battle a few years later. He died in 1187 BC.
