The Active Resistance Party was a Finnish nationalist party that was active from 1904 to 1908. The party was founded with the goal of achieving Finnish independence from the Russian Empire, and its leadership approached Japan with an offer of cooperation against Russia during the Russo-Japanese War. The party later organized an armed wing, which took part in acts of terrorism against the czarist regime; during the 1905 Revolution, the party assisted the Russian revolutionaries in their attempt to overthrow the Russian government. The party would be weakened after the failed revolution, and the party soon disavowed armed struggle, hoping to take up seats in Parliament after the 1907 elections. In 1908, the party dissolved.
