
Abul Mughirah al-Qahtani () was the commander of the Islamic State in Libya.
Biography[]
Abul Mughirah al-Qahtani was born in Yemen as hinted by his kunya; Qahtanites are Arabs from southern Arabia. In the 9 September 2015 issue of Dabiq, he was announced as the delegated leader of the Islamic State in Libya, and in the magazine, he stated that the Islamic State would fight anyone who disagreed with them, including the Abu Salim Martyrs Brigade, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, Libya Dawn coalition, and Libyan Ansar al-Sharia, other jihadist groups.
