Abu Ya'fur ibn Alqama (408-482) was a general of the Berbers.
Biography[]
Abu Ya'fur ibn Alqama was a general of the Berbers, leading an army in the Sahara. In the late 460s, he began fighting with the Eastern Roman Empire, who sent an army to crush the Berbers, who had encroached into their provinces of Creta et Cyrene and Aegyptus. Alqama was defeated many times, and his army took heavy losses. He was killed in battle with the Romans in 482 AD.
