Khalid al-Shammari (1989-26 June 2015), also known as Abu Suleiman al-Muwahhid, was an Islamic State fighter who was responsible for the 2015 Kuwait mosque bombing.
Biography[]
Khalid al-Shammari was born in 1989 to a Sunni Muslim family in Kuwait, although his family was from Saudi Arabia. He lived in Saudi Arabia, and later joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group. al-Shammari took on the nom de guerre of "Abu Suleiman al-Muwahhid", and he was responsible for carrying out the 2015 Kuwait mosque bombing on 26 June 2015, which killed 27 Shi'ite worshippers and wounded 227.
