Abu Omar Khorasani

Abu Omar Khorasani (died 16 August 2021), born Zia-ul-Haq, was the chief of the Islamic State's Wilayah Khorasan province in Afghanistan during the Afghanistan War. He was captured by the Afghan National Army and held at Pul-i-Charkhi prison in Kabul, and, after the Taliban seized power in Kabul on 15 August 2021 and obtained control of the Afghan government prisons, they killed Khorasani on the spot and sent his body back to his hometown in Kunar Province for burial.
