Abu Mujahid al-Saudi (17 September 1982 – 25 January 2016) was a member of the Islamic State from Saudi Arabia.
Biography[]
Abu Mujahid al-Saudi was born on 17 September 1982 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to a family of Sunni Muslim Arabs. He was influenced by Wahhabism, and he decided to join jihadist groups overseas. In 2003, he headed to Iraq and fought against the US Army alongside the Islamic State of Iraq, and he became a top commander of the Islamic State by 2014. al-Saudi became one of the group's foreign fighter program leaders, and he provided money and housing to them when they arrived. On 25 January 2016, al-Saudi was killed in a United States airstrike on Mosul.
