Abu Khalid al-Amriki (died 16 September 2015) was an Islamic State jihadist and recruiter from the United States.
Biography[]
Abu Khalid was born in the United States to a family of African-Americans, and he was either born to a Muslim family, or converted to Islam at some point in his life. In 2013, he left America for Syria and joined the Islamic State, and he became an online recruiter for the group. Abu Khalid appeared in a propaganda video with Australian jihadist Neil Prakash and was an associate of another Australian jihadist, Khaled Sharrouf, who was killed in a June 2015 airstrike. On 18 July 2015, he gave an interview to The Saturday Paper journalist Lauren Williams from Australia, in which he talked about life with IS and often used "God's will" to justify any hypocrisies that he made. He also claimed that he had recently beheaded a Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) soldier on the battlefield at Hasakah, as he fought in the Syrian Civil War from his home in Raqqa. On 17 September 2015, he was killed in an airstrike by the US Air Force.
