
Abu Jaber al-Houti (died 23 November 2014), born Abd al-Baqi Ali Ahmad ba Shaybah, was an al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighter.
Biography[]
Abd al-Baqi Ali Ahmad ba Shaybah was born in Houta, Shabwah Governorate, Yemen to a family of Sunni Muslim Arabs. In 2003 he was detained in Syria while heading to Iraq to join al-Qaeda in the Iraq War, and he relocated to Saudi Arabia for work. In 2010, he returned home to help Abdullah al-Mehdar in the struggle in the Yemeni Civil War with the government, and he was wounded in the 2011 fighting in Abyan. On 23 November 2014, while traveling from Shabwah Governorate to Abyan Governorate, he was killed in a United States drone strike.
