Abraham Oyanedel

Abraham Oyanedel Urrutia (25 May 1874-28 January 1954) was President of Chile from 2 October to 24 December 1932, succeeding Bartolome Blanche and preceding Arturo Alessandri.

Biography[]

Abraham Oyanedel Urrutia was born in Copiapo, Chile on 25 May 1874, and he served in the congressional army during the Chilean Civil War of 1891. He went on to serve on the Supreme Court from 1927 to 1934, and, after garrison revolts toppled Bartolome Blanche's junta, Oyanedel served as interim President before seeing the return of Arturo Alessandri to power. He died in 1954.
