Abraham Kirkpatrick was a US Army major. In 1794, he led 10 soldiers from Pittsburgh to protect the home of his brother-in-law of John Neville during the Whiskey Rebellion, but he was captured during the Battle of Bower Hill. He later escaped, but the rebels burned the barns of his Pittsburgh home.
