Abraham Jude Williams (26 February 1781-30 December 1839) was the Democratic-Republican Governor of Missouri from 4 August 1825 to 20 January 1826, succeeding Frederick Bates and preceding John Miller.

Biography[]

Abraham Jude Williams was born in Hardy County, Virginia in 1781, and he settled in Franklin, Missouri Territory during the late 1810s. He ran a tobacco warehouse in Nashville, Missouri before founding a dry goods store in Columbia and being elected to the State Senate in 1822. He served as the interim Governor of Missouri from 1825 to 1826, following the death of Frederick Bates, and he died in 1839.
