Abraham Jonathan Hostetler (22 November 1818-24 November 1899) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IN 8) from 4 March 1879 to 3 March 1881, succeeding Morton C. Hunter and preceding Robert B.F. Peirce.
Biography[]
Abraham Jonathan Hostetler was born in Washington County, Indiana in 1818, and he worked as a farmer before serving in the state senate from 1854 to 1858, in the US House of Representatives from 1879 to 1881, and as a delegate to the 1880 Democratic National Convention. He died in Bedford in 1899.
