Abraham Ellison Garrett (6 March 1830-14 February 1907) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-TN 3) from 4 March 1871 to 3 March 1873, succeeding William B. Stokes and preceding William Crutchfield.
Biography[]
Abraham Ellison Garrett was born in Livingston, Overton County, Tennessee in 1830, and he became a lawyer in his hometown and served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. After the war, he served in the State House from 1865 to 1866 and in the US House of Representatives from 1871 to 1873, and he practiced law in Carthage until his death in 1907.
