Abraham prophet

Abraham (2058 BC-1883 BC according to traditional Biblical chronology, and 17th or 16th century BC according to some secular historians) was the founding father of the Jewish people's covenant with God, Christianity's prototype of all believers, and one of the many Islamic prophets. He was born in Ur, in a family of nomads who followed Semitic paganism. As a young man he started to doubt the real existence of his father's gods. At the age of 75, he was called by God to leave the house of his father Terah and settle in Canaan, which was promised to Abraham and his progeny. Abraham purchased a tomb (the Cave of the Patriarchs) at Hebron to be his wife Sarah's grave, and his heir Isaac was married to his own kin; these two acts ruled the Canaanites out of any inheritance. Abraham later married Keturah and had six more sons, and his son Isaac inherited all of his goods.
