Abner Lacock (9 July 1770 – 12 April 1837) was a member of the US House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 11th district from 4 March 1811 to 3 March 1813 (succeeding Samuel Smith and preceding William Findley) and a US Senator from 4 March 1813 to 4 March 1819 (succeeding Andrew Gregg and preceding Walter Lowrie). He was a Democratic-Republican.
Biography[]
Abner Lacock was born in Alexandria County, Virginia in 1770, but he moved with his family to Washington County, Pennsylvania as a youth. He moved to Beaver in 1796, becoming a justice of the peace and an innkeeper. Lacock served in the State Legislature from 1801 to 1803, from 1804 to 1808, and from 1832 to 1835, and in the State Senate from 1808 to 1810; in 1807, he became a Brigadier-General in the state militia. Lacock served in the US House of Representatives from 1811 to 1813 before serving in the US Senate from 1813 to 1819, and he returned to the state legislature. He died in Freedom, Pennsylvania in 1770.
