Abiram Chamberlain (7 December 1837-15 May 1911) was the Republican Governor of Connecticut from 7 January 1903 to 4 January 1905, succeeding George P. McLean and preceding Henry Roberts.
Biography[]
Abiram Chamberlain was born in Colebrook, Connecticut in 1837, and he worked as a banker in Meriden before serving in the State House from 1877 to 1878, as State Comptroller from 1901 to 1902, and Governor from 1905, and he used the state guard to put down striking trolley workers in Waterbury. He died in 1911.
