
Abigail Marston in 1907
Abigail Marston (18 May 1877 - 24 October 1914) ,also known as Abigail Roberts as her maiden name, was a member of the Van der Linde gang, wife of John Marston, and mother of Jack Marston. She was a former prostitute for the gang, and slept with many of the gang members. Which gave her husband a suspicion that Jack Marston was not his son. Through all of this she eventually married John Marston, and built there own homestead at a place called Beecher's Hope. She eventually died of Yellow Fever in 1914.

Childhood[]
Abigail Marston was born in 1877 from unknown parents, and was found on the doorstep of Bayland Orphans' Home. She grew up as an orphan, but barely got any schooling. At the age of sixteen she left the orphanage. She then went on to live in the town of Blackwater, and became a prostitute in the local saloon. In 1894 "Uncle" was at the saloon, and saw Abigail, and invited her to come, and see his gang. After meeting the gang she became an official member of the Van der Linde gang.
Adulthood[]
She partnered with the gang through there travels. While doing so John Marston fell in love with her, and he eventually had Jack Marston with her. After the gang split up her and her family moved out west to Pronghorn Ranch. In 1907 the Marston family moved to Texas, and bought a piece of land known as Beecher's Hope, and built a ranch their. On 7 June 1907 John Marston and Abigail Marston officially were married.

In 1914 Abigail Marston was diagnosed with Yellow Fever. Later that year she eventually died. She was buried next to her husband by her son Jack Marston, just outside there ranch. In 1985 there graves were discovered in Texas in the Beecher's Hope area. There graves were rebuilt, and in 1996 Jack Marston was buried next to his mother Abigail Marston.
