The Abercorn Restaurant bombing occurred at 4:30 PM on 4 March 1972 when the Provisional IRA bombed a crowded restaurant in the city center of Belfast, Northern Ireland. 2 people were killed and 130 were wounded, with loss of limbs and eyes being common among the victims of the bombing. Two teenaged IRA girls were believed to be responsible, and the Abercorn Restaurant was targeted because it was frequented by off-duty British Army troops.
