Abdyl Frasheri (1 June 1839-23 October 1892) was an Albanian nationalist and a prominent leader of the League of Prizren.
Biography[]
Abdyl Dume Frasheri was born in Frasher, Ottoman Albania in 1839, the older brother of Naim Frasheri and Sami Frasheri. He spent 20 years in Ioannina, Greece, and he served in the Ottoman Parliament, formed the League of Prizren in 1878 with the objective of Albanian autonomy, and served as Foreign Minister of the provisional government of Albania. In 1881, he was arrested by the Ottomans after the League launched a rebellion against Turkish rule, and he was released in poor health in 1886. He died in Istanbul in 1892.
