Abdullah Rahim al-Turaifi (15 June 1970-20 December 2014) was a member of the Al-Nusra Front during the Syrian Civil War.

Biography[]

Abdullah Rahim al-Turaifi was born on 15 June 1970 in Turaif, Northern Borders Province, Saudi Arabia to a Sunni Muslim family. In 1988 he headed to Afghanistan to fight the Soviet Union and Communist Afghanistan, arriving too late to fight the former. He stayed the course of the war into the 2000s, when he was wounded by a bomb in the Korangal Valley in 2005. al-Turaifi purchased a plane ticket for Syria in 2011 shortly before the Syrian Civil War, sent on a mission to establish a terrorist network. He joined forces with the Al-Nusra Front and fought the Syrian Arab Army in Quneitra in late 2014, and was killed by mortars on the Golan Heights border with Israel.
