
Abdullah Qawasmeh (19 July 1960-11 June 2003), also known as Abbedalla Qawasameh, was a member of the "Qawasmeh tribe" of Palestine and a Hamas leader.
Biography[]
Abdullah Qawasmeh was born on 19 July 1960 in Hebron, West Bank to a family of Sunni Muslim Palestinians. Qawasmeh was known for his religious tendencies since an early age and became a technician after attending Hebron University for two years. In 1988, under the alias "Abu Ayman", he was arrested by Israel during the First Intifada and in 1992 was arrested again; along with 417 other Palestinians, he was banished to Lebanon. Qawasmeh became a leader of the Hamas terrorist group during the Second Intifada, and he was responsible for the deaths of 40 Israelis in two attacks on Jerusalem buses. On 11 June 2003, Qawasmeh was killed by the Yamam unit of the Israel Border Police in Haifa.
