Abdulla Kurd

Abdulla Kurd (20 April 1977-3 May 2011), born Doger Sevdet, was a Kurdish Mujahideen fighter who served in the Second Chechen War.

Biography[]

Doger Sevdet was born in Turkey in Turkish Kurdistan to a Kurdish Sunni Muslim family, and joined the Mujahideen in Chechnya in 1991. He became a senior commander of the group after guerrilla warfare against Russia, and he succeeded Muhannad upon his death in April 2011.

Death[]

Russian FSB troops launched a special operation near Sharo-Argun, where they conducted search and reconaissance missions against the Chechen rebels. Kurd and four other Dagestani militants were killed in battle with the Russians, and the title of Mujahideen leader was left vacant.
