Abdulaziz al-Omari (28 May 1979-11 September 2001) was a Saudi Arabian member of al-Qaeda who was the copilot of American Airlines Flight 11 during the 9/11 attacks.
Biography[]
Abdulaziz al-Omari was born on 28 May 1979 in Asir Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He graduated with honors from high school and gained a degree from the Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, becoming an Imam. al-Omari became involved with the al-Qaeda terrorist group in 2000 and was trained by Osama bin Laden on how to become a professional terrorist. He served as an airport security guard at Kabul and in 2001 was sent to the United States with Mohamed Atta to receive flight training. Omari and Atta met up in Portland, Maine on 10 September 2001 and stayed the night at Comfort Inn, and the next day they left for Boston. They hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 together, and they flew it into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing the two of them in addition to all of the people on the plane.
