Abdul Subhan Qureshi (19 July 1972-) was the leader of the Indian Mujahideen who was responsible for the 2006 Mumbai train bombings.
Biography[]
Abdul Subhan Qureshi was born on 19 July 1972 in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, India to a family of Sunni Muslim Indians. He grew up in Mumbai and became known as an exceptional worker for Radical Solutions, a computer firm after working in other technological jobs. However, in 2001 he wrote that he decided to devote a complete year to religious and spiritual matters, and he became involved with the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). That year, he organized the last public conference of SIMI, where 25,000 Indian Muslims attended a rally that ordered them to carry out jihad against the government of India and establish an Islamic state. In 2006 he severed communications with his wife and children, and he became the leader of the Indian Mujahideen. He was responsible for the 2006 Mumbai train bombings that killed 209 people in addition to bombings in Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and Delhi.
