Maulavi Mohammed Abdul Kabir (born 1958) was the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from 16 April to 13 November 2001, and the Governor of Nangarhar Province. He succeeded Mohammad Rabbani and preceded Ravan Farhadi.
Biography[]
Maulavi Mohammed Abdul Kabir was born between 1958 and 1963 in Paktia, Afghanistan, and was from the Zadran tribe. Under the Taliban-ruled Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Kabir served as Second Deputy of the Taliban's Council of Ministers, Governor of Nangarhar Province, and Head of the Eastern Zone. He was also the de facto Prime Minister of Afghanistan from 16 April to 13 November 2001.
Kabir was captured on 21 February 2010 in Pakistan, but was later released.
