Abdul-Rahman ibn Salim (1 July 873-) was the Sheikh of Cosenza from 7 July 876 under the Emirate of Crete.
Biography[]
Abdul-Rahman ibn Salim was born in Chandax, Crete in 873, the eighth child and fifth son of Emir Salim Iqritishi. His mother was Zenobia, a Greek Muslim; he was raised in his father's Andalusian culture. His father made him Sheikh of Cosenza on 7 July 876, and he grew up ruling in Italy. He came of age in 889, and, on 29 September 889, he ransomed his mother from his half-brother Husayn ibn Salim's captivity.
