Abdolrahim Mousavi (1960-) was commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army from 2017, succeeding Ataollah Salehi.
Biography[]
Abdolrahim Mousavi was born in Qom, Iran in 1960, and he participated in the 1979 Iranian Revolution before joining the Iranian Army and serving in Kurdistan and Khuzestan. He went on to serve as deputy commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army from September 2005 to July 2016, as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces from 2016 to 2017, and as commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army from 2017.
