Abdmelqart of Caralis (died December 266 BC) was a captain of Carthage. He defended the city of Caralis on the island of Sardinia (off present-day Italy) from the Roman Republic during the First Punic War, but was killed in the siege of Caralis in 266 BC.

Abdmelqart's death
Abdmelqart was born on the island of Sardinia in the Tyrrhenian Sea (off the coast of present-day Italy) to a family of Phoenecian origin from Carthage. Abdmelqart became the commander of an army of 101 Carthaginian troops in the Sardinian city of Caralis, which was a small fortress.
During the First Punic War, Captain Abdmelqart defended Caralis from the House of Julii and the House of Scipii of the Roman Republic, and he resisted two Roman armies. He was killed when Julii Hastati stormed the market square, where the Carthaginian army centered its resistance. He was cut down by a Hastati's gladius short sword along with most of his men, dying a valiant death on the field of battle.
