Abdelmajid Dahoumane

Abdelmajid Dahoumane (6 January 1967-) was an Algerian member of al-Qaeda.

Biography[]

Abdelmajid Dahoumane was born on 6 January 1967 in Algeria to a Sunni Muslim family, and he later moved to Canada during the Algerian Civil War. While he was in Canada, he befriended Ahmed Ressam, who recruited him into his al-Qaeda cell, and Dahoumane helped him in purchasing urea and aluminum sulfate and mixing them with nitric and sulphuric acid to build bombs for the 2000 millennium attack plots. On 25 March 2001, he was arrested and tried back in Algeria, which refused to extradite him to the United States; Algeria sought to make an example of him to the population, showing them how terrorists would be imprisoned for their crimes.
