Abd al-Rahim al-Hajj Muhammad (1892-23 March 1939) was a leader of the Central Committee of Jihad during the 1936-39 Arab revolt in Palestine.
Biography[]
Abd al-Rahim al-Hajj Muhammad was born in 1892 in Tulkarm, Ottoman Empire. He was conscripted into the Ottoman Army during World War I, and during the Interwar Years he focused on the affairs of his tribe. In 1936 to 1939, he was the General Commander of the Palestinian rebels against the United Kingdom, starting in that role in September 1938. He was killed on 23 March 1939 in Sanur, Mandatory Palestine in a firefight with British Army forces.
