
Abbott Lawrence (16 December 1792-18 August 1855) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-MA 1) from 4 March 1835 to 3 March 1837 (succeeding Benjamin Gorham and preceding Richard Fletcher) and from 4 March 1839 to 18 September 1840 (succeeding Fletcher and preceding Robert Charles Winthrop). Born in Groton, he worked as a textile manufacturer before serving in Congress as a protectionist Whig. He later served as Minister to the United Kingdom from 1849 to 1852, and he died in Boston in 1855.
