Abbie Z. Ackmoody was an American clerk who worked for a Manhattan-based shipping company during the 19th century. His company was deeply involved in the export of Southern cotton in the years leading up to the American Civil War, leading him and most of his coworkers to vote for the anti-sectionalist Constitutional Union Party at the 1860 presidential election.
