Aaron Schock

Aaron Schock (born 28 May 1981) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-IL 18) from 3 January 2009 to 31 March 2015, succeeding Ray LaHood and preceding Darin LaHood.

Biography[]

Aaron Schock was born in Morris, Minnesota in 1981, and his family moved to Peoria, Illinois when he was in fourth grade. At age 19, the prodigal Shock was elected to his school board, having worked his first job in fifth grade and been eligible to graduate by junior year of high school; he was the youngest school board member in his state's history. At the age of 23, he became school board president, another record. He went on to serve in the state legislature from 2005 to 2009 and in the US House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015, when it was revealed that he used taxpayer money to fund lavish trips and events. He was forced to resign from the House due to the controversy.
