Aarif el-Meskin (1773-late August 1798) was a leader of the Cairo Revolt. el-Meskin was born in Cairo in 1773, and he was incited to rebel against the French First Republic by fanatic imams in 1798. el-Meskin was killed when Auguste Marmont's French army crushed the uprising.
