Allison Clark Bonnell (16 March 1801-16 August 1875) was the Democratic Mayor of Portland, Oregon in 1852, succeeding Hugh O'Bryant and preceding Simon B. Marye.
Biography[]
Allison Clark Bonnell was born in Chatham, New Jersey in 1801, and he worked in retail in Cincinnati, Ohio before moving west to San Francisco, California during the Gold Rush. He served as a recorder clerk from 1849 to 1850, when he settled in Portland, Oregon. He served as mayor for six months in 1852 before resigning in order to embark on a business trip, and he returned in 1853 and served as city recorder for three months before returning to San Francisco, where he died in 1875.
