The 9th arrondissement is one of the 20 districts of the French capital city of Paris. Nicknamed Opéra, the district includes the Palais Garnier, the Paris Opera, the Boulevard Haussmann, and the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores. The 9th arrondissement was a politically diverse district, being the only Parisian district to swing from the left to the right during the 2014 municipal elections. In 2017, the 9th had a population of 60,071 people.
