The 92nd Assault Brigade "Ivan Sirko" is a brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces that was formed in 1999 as the 92nd Mechanized Brigade. The successor of the Red Army's 48th Rifle Division, the 92nd Mechanized Brigade served in the Iraq War and it UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Yugoslavia. The brigade also fought in the Donbas War, including at the Battle of Ilovaisk. The brigade was renamed for Cossack military leader Ivan Sirko after the decommunization of Ukraine and fought in the Russo-Ukrainian War, including in the 2022 Ukrainian eastern counteroffensive.
