The 8th Florida Infantry Regiment was a Confederate States Army regiment from Florida which was active from 1861 to 10 April 1865 during the American Civil War. The 8th Florida was raised in Walton, Washington, Jackson, Santa Rosa, Escambia, Leon, and Gadsden Counties. It served in the Army of Northern Virginia for most of the war, first fighting at the Second Battle of Bull Run, and it was attached to the Florida Brigade at the Battle of Gettysburg and took part in Pickett's Charge. The brigade would later participate in the Overland Campaign and the Siege of Petersburg before surrendering at Appomattox; only 32 men of the 8th were present for the surrender.
