The 76h Guards Air Assault Division is a division of VDV troops from Pskov, formed on 1 September 1939 as the 157th Rifle Division. In 2000, their 104th Guards Air Assault Regiment was ambushed in the First Chechen War, and in 2008 they fought in the Russo-Georgian War. The 76th Division spearheaded the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the Crimean Crisis in 2014 and also fought in the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian War.
